The result delivered is a well-behaved, traditional, conservative spring'er, like a "daddy" family guy, etc. It opens very fresh and clean, like you just came out of the shower and still have the shampoo smell lingering on you. It made me feel like I was standing in a giant cigar humidifier with the finest spices piled up in it as well. The strongest of these notes are the citrus and lavender giving it a clean and aromatic feeling, followed by the sage and pepper adding to the aromatics and providing spiciness in the background. I do like some green scents, I'm not sure if this is even supposed to be a green scent, but that's what I smell.

It was still formidable, but the aroma was subdued enough that I could kind of appreciate it without being totally repulsed. Smells like someone just had a shave and is now rolling a cigarette with fresh tobacco but hasn't lit it yet. Like and not a love for me only because I wish it had a bigger scent bubble - it sits quite close to the skin and and stops just short of creating an air of cleanliness around you. Florals to keep it clean and very mild spices to give balance to the sweetness all tie in perfectly. I loved it but it was a bit to masculine but layering it with a vanilla lotion (vs bare vanilla golden is my go to right now) takes some of the sharpness out of it and makes it smooth and cozy.

Signature scent worthy, yes but dry down has lot to be desired and I always somehow compare this to Versace Dreamer and Dreamer is better in the current formulation than this. there is a touch of powderyness like an aftertaste, which I might contribute to lavender perhaps, but orange blossom is the by far dominant ingredient. Gradually the green notes fade away leaving you with a very soapy fragrance that gives me a headache.

Sure there are minor differences to the 1994 original release but the differences are primarily concerning depth and complexity but the Made in France is really good enough and its the nearest version to the vintage. It definitely utilizes synthetic lavender, but so do a lot of other fragrances including some that are very expensive such as Tom Ford's Beau de Jour for example.i always associate this one with clear warm mediterranean waters, sun, citrus trees, beige linen pants and hats, Prada sunglasses etc. This is a scent that I will wear and love and appreciate but I know that it’s mostly for me or for anyone who gets close enough to smell it on me because those who don’t get close enough probably won’t notice it. You can smell it and Azzaro or Drakkar next to it and definitely you can pick up the similarities, of course intertwined with the increased levels of freshness that were more en vogue in the 90s and which continues to this day.
