She must compete in three daunting challenges which will push her brain and her body to its furthermost extent. He is hosting a special competition where the winner will be announced as his new queen and in turn bring the kingdom back into balance. Comparitively, Torin is reserved and intense and when these two come together there are more sparks than you can handle. They begin a passionate affair, which reaches an intriguing climax when he has to choose between his life and his art.

The ending was compelling enough to make me want to read the next book in the series, Ambrosia, I really want to know what happens. I loved racing alongside Rosie and her friends on a journey that needed valiance, courage and logic.Whichever you choose, we hope you enjoy being part of your unique reading community – happy reading everyone! They never actually do anything much but we know what they want to do with each other, so low spice , but good tension. C’est un slow burn sur fond de rituels initiatiques bien construit, avec des personnages attachants, bien qu’un peu clichés. At times her love for her pet surpasses the love for her ‘ghost’ father, which is sad but made sense because her pet was the only thing around real enough to merit her emotional investment (until Flynn arrives). As “Ginger Spice,” Geri played a formative role in the band as they became one of the biggest selling girl groups of all time.

If that managed to capture the momentum that this book had lost, then it would be worth reading it to understand the characters. I cared for them in the initial pages, but as the subplots kept dwindling, they kept reacting in the same manner and sometimes became too passive. The trials are bloody and brutal but then there are your more bachelorette scenes with one on one dinners and dances.

Frost is a fast-paced, quick and easy, steamy read and I am already so attached to the characters and this plot. As the exhausted Frost staggers from case to case, pressured from all sides and haunted by memories of his wife, something nasty arrives at the station in the form of Detective Chief Inspector Skinner. I liked that the Frost Fair was a very low-stakes event for Cassie to visit – it’s nice to see positive aspects of history presented in childrens’ books as well as the tendency to focus on the gross or dangerous.

I liked the writing, and some of the steamy scenes were quite nice, but aside from this Frost was a bit of a letdown. The king spontaneously visiting a dive bar in the human realm to have a drink, the lack of guards at the palace, him doing servants‘ tasks like waking up Ava and bringing her coffee, being chill with people first-naming him. If you are a fan of stories with original ideas and addictive writing then you'll want to grab this one! Although Ava did get some help from Torin throughout the tasks, I didn’t feel like it took away from her own badassery.Plenty of action keeps the story going and keeps plenty of questions remaining open that would feed in nicely to a sequel.
